Fabio Pisacane extends his contract with Cagliari. The Rossoblu coach signed a new contract with the club this morning, running until June 30, 2028, with an option for a further season. After a 43-point season ending May 24, securing a 14th-place finish in Serie A, his confirmation was a given— announced two weeks ago by president Tommaso Giulini —and now it's official, following the announcement of the appointment of new sporting director Pietro Accardi.
Pisacane, who made his debut as a player with Cagliari in 2016, will therefore be looking forward to his second Serie A campaign . Born in 1986, he played for the Rossoblu from 2015 to January 2021, before returning after finishing his playing career with Lecce. He began his career as Fabio Liverani's technical assistant, making his debut on the bench on December 26, 2022, against Cosenza before Claudio Ranieri's arrival. He then moved to the youth academy and had a brilliant experience with the Primavera, culminating on April 9, 2025, with the historic Coppa Italia victory, defeating AC Milan 3-0. This triumph, a few months later, opened the doors to the first team.
For Pisacane's Cagliari, the new season will begin in mid-July with the first tests at the Crai Sport Center in Assemini, followed by a transfer to Alta Val Camonica for the Pontedilegno-Tonale training camp (July 22-August 1). The team's official debut will be on the August bank holiday weekend with the Coppa Italia round of 32 (at home, opponent to be announced), with the first matchday of Serie A taking place in Parma on August 22-23 .
