Luca Campana, the 31-year-old who was injured by a bullet fired from the gun of parliamentarian Emanuele Pozzolo on New Year's Eve, has filed a complaint with the public prosecutor's office in Biella .

Campana showed up at the prosecutor's office as an offended person together with the lawyer Marco Romanello. The conditions of prosecution for the application of the crime of injury have thus crystallized.

Campana, heard by the investigators, denied having handled the gun when the shot that hit him went off: "I have never touched that gun" , he said. The testimonies of the participants at the party converge, it was the FdI deputy who held the pistol in his palm, a 22 caliber ten centimeters long and weighing 130 grams.

« He didn't point it at anyone, he had it in his hand and the shot probably went off. Involuntarily, certainly yes, but this shot went off", says one of those present. Who, like the others, cannot understand the fact that Pozzolo took the gun out of his pocket. «We can't understand, there was no reason - he says -. It was half past one and until that moment none of us had even exploded a bang. We are against it, there were children and even pets. Furthermore, this person wasn't even invited to the party, he stopped by just to wish him a happy birthday", explain the testimonies. Another testimony collected by La Stampa reports the words that Pozzolo is said to have uttered that evening: "I am ruined" .

Today Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that the parliamentarian has been suspended from the party .
