"The team has improved a lot. If we're less impressive, that's fine, it's not a problem. Our history shows that with our mentality and willingness to suffer, we've achieved unexpected goals wearing this jersey."

This is how Rino Gattuso, speaking to Sky, charged up his players in view of tomorrow's play-off with Bosnia to return to the World Cup after 12 years .

"Football players live for nights like this. There's that tingling sensation. I think there's nothing more beautiful. If you don't have that, you have to hang up your boots, or if you're a coach, you have to quit," adds the Italian coach. "We play a lot, there's awareness. We have to be good at not losing energy and putting it all out on the pitch."

He continued: "I've felt a great responsibility since taking over the national team, but I can't focus on what will happen, whether positive or negative. I have to focus on looking the players in the eye and instilling enormous confidence. We have the potential to achieve this goal ," Gattuso concluded.

The Italy coach also addressed the controversy surrounding the video showing some Azzurri players celebrating Bosnia's victory over Wales . "I assure you that's not the case, we have great respect for Bosnia."
