Not just music and picnics for the Easter and Easter Monday holiday weekend. The Regional Directorate of the National Museums of Sardinia has planned extraordinary openings also to accommodate the first tourists arriving on the island.
In Sassari, the “Sanna” Museum with its very rich archaeological and ethnographic collection will be open both Sunday and Monday from 9 to 13.45. Remaining in the city, in Piazza Santa Caterina there is the Pinacoteca Nazionale (from 9am to 7.30pm on Easter and Easter Monday) where you can admire some paintings by Giuseppe Biasi belonging to the Collection of the Sardinia Region. But not only. The theme is Easter with the exhibition of an engraving by the master Mario Delitala, Christ at the Praetorium, 1937 , woodcut on paper. And still great curiosity for the works of Maria Lai and Costantino Nivola.
In the Antiquarium Turritano of Porto Torres you can admire the mosaic of Orpheus on Monday from 9 to 13, today visible in the upside-down version and restored in the missing parts. A few days ago, an exhibition of malacology was also inaugurated entitled: “Shells at the Antiquarium” .
In Caprera the Garibaldi Compendium , open all day Sunday and Monday until 7:30 pm, offers the new exhibition space, inside Giuseppe Garibaldi's windmill. The Giuseppe Garibaldi Memorial It opens in the afternoon instead, from 1.45pm to 7.15pm.
