Today's news from Cagliari is that Andrea Belotti has been withdrawn. The striker, following issues that emerged during his medical, will no longer be able to wear the Rossoblu jersey . Sporting director Pietro Accardi explained the club's decision in an interview with Sky Sport: "Our intention was to start over with him and give him this opportunity, but unfortunately, after extensive medical examinations, the timeframe has been significantly extended," the new director stated.

Belotti was ready to sign a new contract with Cagliari, after his previous one expired on June 30th. He had undergone a medical nine days ago at Villa Stuart in Rome and was greeted by several Rossoblu fans at the airport. But that very day, not everything went smoothly during the security checks: "As a result, we felt it wasn't right to continue with Belotti," Accardi explains. "Reluctantly, because we are attached to the boy, we had to make this choice for the good of Cagliari. He has earned a reputation as a person, but unfortunately, he was unlucky."

Now, Cagliari will have to find a replacement for Belotti on the market. "He's a very mature guy, who understands, but none of us expected this outcome," Accardi concludes, speaking of the striker's reaction to the club's decision.
