Cagliari has a new sporting director: Pietro Accardi. Just days after announcing the separation from Guido Angelozzi , the club, led by president Tommaso Giulini, announced the appointment of the 1982-born director, who joined from Sampdoria, where he was technical director. He has signed a contract until June 30, 2029.
Born in Palermo, he made over 250 professional appearances as a footballer for Marsala, Palermo, Sampdoria, Brescia, and Empoli. After retiring, he began his second career in Tuscany: as a manager, initially as a team manager and then, in 2016—at just 34 years old—as sporting director, a role he held at Empoli until the summer of 2024 .
" A dynamic, ambitious, and charismatic player who enjoys spending his day-to-day working closely with the staff and team, Accardi will put all his skills and professionalism at the Club's disposal," said Cagliari Calcio.
