A party yesterday in Burcei that cannot remain an end in itself.

So after the conferences, the tasting of cherries and the other cultural events proposed yesterday during the festival which returned to the square after three years, we are already thinking about the future.

And Burcei 's future cannot ignore the roads , the only ones that can avoid the isolation of the country of cherries. There is hope for the start of work on the Burcei-Sinnai-Maracalagonis road, but also for the recovery of the old roads of the shepherds and peasants that from Burcei lead to Villasalto, Dolianova and Sinnai.

Ancient paths, still practiced today in off-road vehicles but which deserve to be recovered for today's needs: a mountain area to be recovered and enhanced . The fixed point remains the construction of the Burcei-Sinnai-Maracalagonis (which will also serve to bring the Gerrei and not only Cagliari) through the connection with Villasalto (partly already paved). A necessity, precisely to favor the homogeneous development of the entire territory.

The focus is mainly on NRPs to give leg to projects . Meanwhile yesterday, Burcei cherries delighted the finest palates. In the stands they came directly from the plants, just picked by very skilled hands and brought to the town in the Marcia park, one step away from the church which reopened after seven years .

Really exquisite cherries from "Sa scova", "Su xillianu", "Is crabas": dominating the "Regina", first fruits that will soon give way to Durona, with a firmer pulp. Burcei after three years returned to normal , dressing up for the party, with the guests arriving from Cagliari and Sarrabus. A day that began with a conference on cherries, on prospects, on the new possibilities of relaunching the product for commercial and touristic purposes. Experts from Laore and Agris Guido De Luigi, Sergio Cogotti, Stefano Olla and Giorgio Melis, Antonio Marongiu intervened in the debate, opened by the mayor Simone Monni.

We talked about the Gal Sarrabus-Gerrei-Trexenta and the project linked to the "Way of Santa Barbara" between mining municipalities (such as Burcei), in Southern Sardinia. With speeches by Silvia Doneddu, director of Gal. Many side events are proposed : games for children, a poetic competition, the inauguration of the soccer field and the reopening of the parish church. But the future is above all linked to a road network that is truly capable of bringing the area closer to Cagliari and its hinterland.
