Tommaso Giulini and Nicola Riva were also in the stands at Bilino Polje in Zenica, where tonight at 8:45 pm Italy will face Bosnia in the decisive World Cup qualifying match. The president and club ambassador decided to fly to the venue where the Azzurri are playing for a spot in the finals , also to be close to the two Cagliari players called up: Elia Caprile and Marco Palestra.
Palestra, who made his Italy debut on Thursday in the victorious semifinal against Northern Ireland (2-0 in Bergamo), has retained his No. 2 spot . Caprile, however, will once again be in the stands: coach Gennaro Gattuso has chosen Marco Carnesecchi and Alex Meret as Gianluigi Donnarumma's reserves . In terms of formation, the national team's starting eleven shouldn't be much different from the one seen five days ago, with Mateo Retegui favored over Francesco Pio Esposito to partner Moise Kean in attack.
Giulini and Riva will return to Sardinia after the match. The Cagliari president will meet with UEFA at the City Hall tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. regarding the new stadium project . In addition to Caprile, the other players who will be in the stands are defender Diego Coppola (Paris FC), forwards Nicolò Cambiaghi (Bologna), and Gianluca Scamacca (Atalanta), the latter having not recovered from injury.
