The long weekend (from Thursday to Sunday) offers Sassari and Caprera two days of extraordinary opening for those who want to immerse themselves in culture and history. The Regional Directorate Museums will be open both for the Labor Day of May 1st, and on Sunday, which as the first Sunday of the month allows free admission.

The “GA Sanna” Museum in Sassari with its new exhibition and its history that tells the story of the island from Prehistory, and from the Nuragic Age, to the Phoenician-Punic and Roman periods will be open in the morning from 9 to 13.45.

Full days (from 9 to 19:30) for the Pinacoteca Nazionale , also in Sassari, where inside the largest picture gallery in Sardinia you can visit the exhibition dedicated to the stories of some artists of the fascist era, entitled: “Propaganda. Images and words of the regime”. Also on display are two works entitled “Festa campestre” , created by Giovanni Marghinotti (1861) and Stanis Dessy (1938), which document the continuation of the tradition and the love for this form of collective entertainment.

In Caprera the Garibaldi Compendium will be able to discover many details of the life of the hero of the two worlds on Thursday and Sunday with opening hours from 8.30 to 19.30. The Giuseppe Garibaldi Memorial instead it opens from 1.45pm to 7.15pm.
