New cases of the Omicron variant of Covid are reported by various countries. Australia announced that it had diagnosed two infections on passengers arriving from South Africa, in the Czech Republic the regional hospital of Liberec, in the north of the country, announced in a television link in these hours the presence of the new variant with the confirmation of a patient who is infected with it.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands has confirmed that the first 61 passengers found positive for coronavirus upon their arrival in Amsterdam, on board two flights, from South Africa have the Omicron variant with "a certainty index of 95 percent", as communicated by the ministry of Health.

In this context, many States have adopted restrictive measures, the latest in chronological order is Israel which has decided to completely close its borders to prevent the entry of infected people.
