United Kingdom, Canada and Australia recognize the State of Palestine.
“Today, to revive hope for peace between Palestinians and Israelis and a two-state solution, the United Kingdom formally recognises the State of Palestine,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on X.
The first country was Canada, which, as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated, "recognizes the State of Palestine and offers its collaboration to build the promise of a peaceful future for both the State of Palestine and the State of Israel ."
Australia also followed suit. In a statement, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the move was part of a "coordinated international effort" with Canada and the United Kingdom, the announcement of which came shortly after.
