The return of the “Sassari” Brigade from Lebanon continues, engaged for six months in the Unifil mission, the United Nations Force deployed on the border with the State of Israel . Last night at the military airport of Decimomannu, approximately 70 soldiers from the 151st infantry regiment landed.

The military, in the Middle East, operated, led by Commander Colonel Alessio Argese, on the security front to ensure compliance with the ceasefire in the area, support the Lebanese armed forces and assist the local population.

With them, the war flag of the department also returned to Sardinia, decorated with two Military Orders of Italy, two Gold Medals for Military Valor and a Gold Medal for Army Valor.

The return of the Sassari Brigade began at the end of January with staggered departures from Beirut airport aboard Italian Air Force aircraft and will be completed in the next few days with the return to Sardinia of the "Sassari" Logistics Regiment, commanded by Colonel Eugenio Fortunato.
