An Israeli military helicopter crashed in the Mediterranean. The two pilots on board died and a third person was injured.

According to reports from the Army, the aircraft - of the Atalef type - crashed into the sea off the coast of the northern city of Haifa while a training flight was underway. The commander of the Israeli Air Force, Amikam Norkin, announced a temporary halt to training activities. While a senior officer has been appointed to lead an investigation team to investigate the "incident," the army announced, without providing any clues as to the cause of the disaster.
