Massive Russian airstrikes on Kiev overnight: at least ten dead, dozens injured
The capital is in flames: "The enemy is once again targeting residential areas and killing civilians."Waves of Russian missiles and drones bombarded Kiev and other Ukrainian cities hours after President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing for another large-scale attack on Ukraine.
Ten people were killed and at least 56 others injured, including two children, according to statements by Kyiv City Military Administration Chief Tymur Tkachenko and Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the Kyiv Independent reports.
During the offensive, Russia launched dozens of cruise and ballistic missiles against Kiev, as well as carrying out mass drone strikes in several regions. The attack destroyed residential buildings, damaged a hotel in central Kiev, and set fire to multi-story buildings.
"The enemy is again targeting residential areas and killing civilians. We have witnessed very serious destruction and a significant number of victims, including children," Tkachenko said.
