A man with amputated legs and in a wheelchair was killed by police in Huntington Park in Southern California . A tragic incident that fuels the controversy over the excessive use of force by the police.

The circumstances that preceded the killing of 36-year-old African American Anthony Lowe - the American media report - are not clear , with the agents having already revised their version on several occasions: they say they were afraid that Lowe could throw the knife at him.

In the images of what happened we see the 36-year-old dragging himself on the sidewalk with a knife in his hand , then two policemen pointing their guns at him, then nothing more, even if the tragic epilogue is known.

Lowe's family demands that the officers be fired and charged with murder .

Just a few days ago, the video of the killing of Tire Nichols , beaten to death by five officers in Memphis, had sparked the anger of activists who are calling for police reform.
