Donald Trump ready to "buy and control Gaza". The US president himself said this aboard Air Force One, according to Bloomberg.
Trump explained that the purchase is an option, but that he could also grant some areas to other Middle Eastern countries to help with reconstruction.
The most concrete hypothesis, however, is that of the transfer of the population to some states in the region, such as Egypt and Jordan.
The White House leader's words about the possible "purchase" have obviously caused a stir.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has roundly rejected Trump's plan, saying: "No one has the power to remove the people of Gaza from their eternal homeland that has existed for thousands of years."
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Trump's words were "a scandal. And it's also a frightening concept."
For Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump's plan is "determined" and "revolutionary", while Russia is taking its time: "Before evaluating, we need to wait to know the details".
