Crans-Montana death toll rises to 41: 18-year-old Swiss man dies

The Swiss prosecutor's office has announced another death following the Crans-Montana tragedy, bringing the death toll to 41 and the number of injured to 115. The Swiss news agency ATS reported that an 18-year-old Swiss man hospitalized in Zurich died on Saturday.
The news was announced by the prosecutor of the Canton of Valais, Beatrice Pilloud: "The death toll from the fire at the 'Le Constellation' bar on January 1, 2026, has now risen to 41. No further information will be released at this stage of the investigation."
Six very young Italians died in the fire: Giovanni Tamburi (16 years old), Achille Barosi (16 years old), Emanuele Galeppini (16 years old), Chiara Costanzo (16 years old), Riccardo Minghetti (16 years old), and Sofia Prosperi (15 years old) .
Dozens of injured people, many of them in serious condition, are still hospitalized in Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy and Belgium.
Four people are under investigation for the massacre: Jacques and Jessica Moretti, owners of the Constellation, the current head of public safety for the municipality, Christophe Balet, and his predecessor, Ken Jacquemoud .
