Investigations continue into the death of Paolo Calissano , the actor who was the face of “Vivere” and “Vento di ponente” found dead last December 31 in his home in Rome, in the Monte Mario district.

The magistrates of piazzale Clodio are proceeding for manslaughter and the questions will be entrusted to the expert appointed by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office no earlier than tomorrow. The goal is to reconstruct the last hours of the 54-year-old's life, who in all likelihood had been dead for at least two days.

According to an initial investigation, he was killed by a mix of the drugs he was taking to treat himself from depression. Boxes of drugs were found near the body, which was lying on the bed, other pills were on the floor, scattered around the house.

It remains to be seen whether Calissano voluntarily took all those drugs or not: the carabinieri started the first hearings, starting with Calissano's former partner, Fabiola Palese. It was the woman who called 112 because she hadn't heard from the actor for a few hours: "You are jackals. Leave him alone at least now", she wrote on Instagram.

"Paul did not commit suicide," he added in an interview with the Messenger. "It wasn't like him - he explains -. I think he didn't stand up to all the drugs he was taking because of his depression. He was waiting for another chance. The world of entertainment had turned its back on him, but he wanted an opportunity for redemption. that no one has granted him ".

"He was depressed," he explained. "Only the servant and I were in that house, but the investigations will verify it. He hardly went out anymore, he had let himself go and maybe he had gone back to taking benzodiazepines in massive doses to sleep. I think he made some trouble with medicines, a bombardment of psychotropic drugs, but not to take one's life ".

THE REACTIONS - "Hi Paolo ... We worked many months together ... Then your frailties took over and you got lost ... In my memories you are the kind boy who always had a smile for everyone on the set", the words of Barbara D ' Urso, who had acted with him in Doctor Giò. "Hi Paolo, you were a sensitive and fragile person, too much for such a ruthless world! Hands folded", tweeted Stefania Orlando.

Ivana Spagna has published a video in which they sing and play together: "You have always remained in my heart. Perhaps too sensitive to resist in this world!". Sara Ricci, who with Calissano had acted in the soap Vivere: "It is as if I lost a part of me. Paolo was a colleague, a work and life partner and a splendid person with so many frailties and so much pain even if he lacked nothing . You cannot imagine how beautiful it was to work and live next to Paolo ".

THE ARREST - In 2005 Calissano was arrested for the death of a Brazilian dancer, Ana Lucia Bandeira Bezerra, from an overdose at her home in Genoa and negotiated a four-year sentence, serving it in a drug addiction rehabilitation community. He then obtained the pardon.
