Approved on Thursday by the Senate, the government's energy decree, which updates and integrates the regulations for identifying suitable areas for the installation of renewable energy systems , will soon receive the green light from the Chamber of Deputies.

The measure limits Sardinia's ability to freely choose where to install wind and solar farms. Furthermore, it introduces buffer zones of 500 meters for solar power and 3 kilometers for wind power near cultural and landscape heritage sites , a measure that conflicts with the exclusive decision-making power of the autonomous regions. Furthermore, it completely excludes the island from offshore projects, meaning a profusion of offshore wind turbines. And, given that there are no unsuitable areas within the territory, wind turbines could also be installed in ports and disused military areas , preventing the region from reclaiming them.

The Sardinian committees are protesting and attacking the absent senators and those who voted in favor. For the record: Senators Giovanni Satta (FI) and Antonella Zedda (FdI) voted in favor. Sabrina and Ettore Licheri (M5S) voted against, while Marco Meloni (PD) and Marcello Pera (FdI) were absent .

"Todde, bring the Pratobello law to the floor. The Statute and Urban Planning are our only hope for salvation ," is the appeal. The mayor of Orgosolo, Pasquale Mereu : "We've now reached the point where we urgently need to convene the island's elected parliamentarians and regional councilors. We must immediately challenge the measure before the Constitutional Court and, if that doesn't suffice, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg . This law, which will be approved without the consent of the people, does not respect Sardinia's exclusive jurisdiction over landscape matters and allows the energy production limits set by the European Union to be exceeded. The Pratobello law must be approved simultaneously."
