The night he died, Marco Pantani "was not alone: there were two escorts with him".
This was said by the mother of the cycling champion, Tonina Belletti, heard by the carabinieri of the investigative unit of the Rimini operations department. The interview lasted three and a half hours at the provincial headquarters: the woman was heard in the context of the new file of the Public Prosecutor's Office which has already filed two investigations, the last in 2015, always arriving at the same conclusion, namely that Pantani is died on February 14, 2004 in the Le Rose residence, from an overdose of drugs and drugs.
The escorts, added the “Pirate's” mother, would have met him that morning in his room.
Even today the dossier is arranged on form 45, the one used for the registration of deeds not constituting crime reports, even after the new testimony.
