New commitment for the Serpeddì Choir of Sinnai outside the borders of the island.

This time the location is Rovereto where the Sardinian choir will participate on Sunday 12 May in "Sa die de sa Sardigna", a festival of the Sardinian people organized by the "Maria Carta" recreational club of Rovereto.

The program includes at 10am, in the parish of San Giuseppe Brione, the Holy Mass animated by the Serpeddì Choir with liturgical songs in the Campidanese language.

In the afternoon the concert will be held in the Rovereto Philharmonic Hall in which the Sinnaese choir will be joined by two local musical groups, the Soldanella Brentonico Choir and the Ludovico Viadana Rovereto Choir.

For the Serpeddì Choir - directed by maestro Andrea Desogus - it will be a new opportunity to promote and spread Sardinian culture and traditions through religious and profane songs, ancient and recent, of the Campidanese Sardinian tradition, as already done this same year in Bovolone (VR) and Mantua and in recent years in Prague, Bolzano, Llangollen (Wales) as well as in many places in Sardinia (including the organization last year of the important traveling choral festival “Cantus e Melodias de cuatru Provincias”).

For this reason, the choir performs arranged in a semicircle with songs performed a cappella, wearing the traditional male dress of Sinnai, typical of holidays and large family occasions.
