Igor Sollai "declares himself innocent and uninvolved in the facts". Thus explained Carlo Demurtas, one of the lawyers of the 42-year-old arrested on charges of aggravated murder and concealment of a corpse after the disappearance of his wife Francesca Deidda, 43, which occurred in San Sperate last May.

From what we learn, in his story to the police, immediately after the report of his wife's disappearance which dates back to about two months ago, the 42-year-old, a road haulier by profession and who today made use of the right not to respond, had hypothesized a voluntary departure of his wife: "He wanted a period of reflection", he would have said to justify the disappearance. And he hadn't reported it because, this was his explanation, the woman's brother had already done so.

Summoned to the barracks, Sollai had provided his version of events, but his words did not convince the investigators of the Iglesias Company. The searches began, but there was no trace of the 43-year-old, not even of her mobile phone. And the body has not yet been found either.

In recent days the investigations have accelerated, which led to the arrest requested by the Cagliari prosecutor Marco Cocco. In the next few hours, the investigating judge's decision on the precautionary measure against the alleged femicide will be known after the validation of the arrest.
