He tried to break down the door of his ex-partner's house. He had a switchblade with him. And just hours earlier, he had been issued a restraining order not to approach the woman. For this reason, a fifty-eight-year-old man from San Gavino is now in prison in Uta: the worst was averted thanks to the intervention of the Carabinieri.

It all began yesterday afternoon: the man was served with a precautionary measure requiring him to leave the family home and be prohibited from approaching his former partner. The court-issued order required him to leave the home and maintain a distance of at least one kilometer from the victim. Monitoring was carried out using an electronic bracelet.

But that evening, the fifty-eight-year-old returned to the woman's home and violently attempted to break down the front door. The timely call for help prompted the immediate intervention of the local police, supported by their colleagues from Guspini and the Mobile Radio Unit of the Villacidro Company.

The Carabinieri managed to subdue the violent man before the situation could escalate further. The search revealed that he was also carrying a switchblade. He was subsequently arrested and transferred to a holding cell.

At first light today, the Preliminary Investigations Judge issued an order to increase the precautionary measure. The military thus executed the new order, which ordered the man to be held in custody. Following the completion of the formal procedures, the 58-year-old was remanded in custody.
