7.5 million euros will arrive from the Region, allocated in the latest Budget law, for the construction of storage tanks for drinking water resources and connected hydraulic works in the municipalities of Dorgali, Bari Sardo, Baunei and Ploaghe, the implementation of which is entrusted to Works and Infrastructures of Sardinia.

"Considering the particular historical period we are going through, in which adaptation to climate change requires the adoption of measures that have the purpose of guaranteeing the supply of drinking water even in critical situations due to dry periods, it is necessary to intervene - he declares the regional councilor for public works Perluigi Saiu – for the construction of a series of works, on a local scale, capable of enhancing the accumulation capacity of water for drinking use and optimizing distribution to users».

On March 16, Saiu met the mayors of the municipalities receiving the interventions and OIS in an operational meeting to define the paths for the construction of the tanks.

«We are talking about a need that is particularly felt in coastal and tourist-oriented municipalities due to the significant increase in demand during the summer period which therefore requires a greater storage capacity of the water resource, which will be possible with the construction of the tanks».
