The fight against incivility does not stop in Sassari, with the local police committed to enforcing the rules on environmental decorum and on the correct disposal of waste.
From February 14 to early March, the environmental nucleus of via Carlo Felice sanctioned 107 people for offenses related to these issues. A new record, also due to the intensification of controls with 2022 and thanks also to the use of latest generation photo-traps in addition to the reports of citizens.
Like the previous ones, the new photo-traps are also mobile and are therefore moved to the various areas of the city and the countryside, based on where the major problems are identified. The photo-traps are in effect video cameras also useful for surveillance and therefore to enhance the safety level of the population.
Among the penalties, the greatest number - 68 out of 107, therefore more than half - are linked to failure to comply with the door-to-door waste collection service. An administrative offense that causes damage to the environment and to the whole community: occupying the space intended for the citizens who live in those areas, the containers that can no longer be used by those who have the right are overloaded, when even the uncivilized are not they leave their waste on the ground.
Seventeen were sanctions against people from other neighboring municipalities who throw waste in Sassari, while thirteen were given in black bags. Seven deposits on the ground.
Finally, there are two non-domestic businesses that they have transferred to street bins, while an ad hoc door-to-door collection is planned for them.
