Violence in Cagliari, Truzzu's squeeze: "More surveillance in risk areas"

The mayor Paolo Truzzu asked the Prefect of Cagliari Gianfranco Tomao to convene the provincial committee for order and security for the first days of next week.

The decision following the serious episodes of violence that took place in the city center, not least the one that saw a 16-year-old groped by a foreigner in Piazza del Carmine.

In agreement with the Local Police Corps, the strengthening of surveillance in the areas most at risk was also arranged, providing for a mobile control by patrols, at night and especially during the weekends. And maximum attention and vigilance right in Piazza del Carmine.

Recently - a note from the Municipality of Cagliari specifies - the control initiatives on city streets and squares have been intensified, operated by the municipal police in close contact with the police.
