Tyrrhenian Link, land expropriation begins: protest mounts in Selargius

Mobilization of the police forces in the area of Matta 'e Masone , in the countryside of Selargius bordering those of Settimo: the expropriation of various lands is expected for the construction of the Tyrrhenian Link project, Terna 's submarine cable that will connect Sardinia to Sicily to – this is the ultimate objective – export part of the immense quantity of electricity that will be produced by the wind and photovoltaic plants that we want to place throughout the island .

Public order is entrusted to the Carabinieri and the police .

A protest demonstration is underway by the "No Tyrrenhian Link" committee founded in April 2023 against the project which in the Selargius area affects 17 hectares of farmland and which involves the construction of two stations in the area, one for accumulation and one for sorting .

The submarine cable project involves landing in Sardinia at Terra Mala, in the Quartu area, an area classified as being of naturalistic environmental interest.
