One dead and one seriously injured: this is the toll—perhaps not definitive—from the tragic accident that occurred this evening in Uta on Via Sant'Ambrogio, the road that connects the town to the SP2 highway, a short distance from the bridge. The victim was 21 years old; his name was Michele Murgia, and he lived in Assemini.

He was traveling with a 23-year-old friend in a Panda—reported stolen in Quartu, as reported this afternoon—which, for reasons yet to be determined, ended up off the road, hitting a tree, and then into vegetation: the young man was thrown from the vehicle.

Emergency responders attempted to resuscitate him for a long time, but there was nothing they could do for Murgia. The twenty-three-year-old, however, was transferred to the hospital with a red code: his life is not in danger.

The Iglesias Carabinieri and firefighters also intervened on site.

According to reports , there was also another young man on board the Panda who, perhaps in shock, walked away after the accident: it is not clear whether he was the driver.
