First hearing in the Court of Assizes for Shahid Masih, 30 years old Pakistani, accused of the attempted murder of his ex-partner, Paola Piras, and of the murder of her son, Mirko Farci , 19, who had tried to defend her from the attack which took place on 11 May 2021 in Tortolì .
Before the court of Cagliari chaired by judge Giovanni Massidda, the defense lawyer Federico Delitala renewed the request for an abbreviated judgment already formulated in the preliminary hearing, challenging the premeditation, which punishes the crime with life imprisonment and prevents access to rites alternative.
After a one-hour council chamber, the judges rejected the objection of unconstitutionality on the failure to grant the shortened procedure and declared open the hearing, which will begin on 5 October.
In November there may already be a discussion because the defense has allowed the production of the entire prosecution file, limiting itself to asking to hear a witness and a consultant. The civil lawyers Maurizio Corda, Marcello Caddori, Maurizio Mereu and Paolo Pilia assist the young man's family.
