The second of the robbers responsible for the attack on the tobacconist's on Via Raffaello in Orune , which occurred Saturday evening after closing time , has turned himself in at the Carabinieri station. This closes the circle.
The man decided to present himself voluntarily to the police.
The military personnel from the Bitti Station and the Orune Company, coordinated by prosecutor Selene Desole, who had immediately launched a thorough investigation, had already identified him as one of the participants in the robbery.
The first to be arrested, in the hours immediately following the attack, was Simone Deiana, a young local man with no criminal record, who (defended by Nello Ziri) will appear today before the investigating judge for the hearing to validate his arrest.
The robbery was completed in a matter of minutes. Two men, wearing masks and armed, burst into the tobacco shop run by Maria Caterina Goddi, 50, threatening her and demanding the day's takings. The two then fled on foot.
Thanks to video surveillance footage installed in the area and the timely intervention of the Carabinieri, the investigation took a turn. Deiana was quickly identified and arrested, while the search for his accomplice continued until this morning, when he decided to turn himself in.
