His name was Andrea Musiu and he was a former Cagliari youth player, the 20 year old from Selargius who died last night while playing football in the field of the old Sant'Elia village.

Twenty years old in April, he was known in the football environment of the island: he grew up in the rossoblù youth teams, he had played the last championship with Ferrini and had also played in the Quartu 2000.

It was just after 19 when the boy, during a game with friends, collapsed leaving everyone in shock . The first half was over: "The referee had just whistled", says the father of a young opponent of the boy, "at a certain point I noticed a boy on the ground and the screams of his teammates, I rushed towards him and I practiced heart massage and mouth-to-mouth respiration ”.

Nothing to do, in about ten minutes the ambulance also arrived, the rescuers used the defibrillator 4-5 times. All useless, the boy's heart never left again , the friends closed in a circle around the body, in tears: they caressed and kissed him on the forehead. A drama during a moment of lightheartedness .

The young man had been stopped for a year, he had not been registered due to health problems, it seems to the heart.

The magistrate ordered the seizure of the body, which is at the Policlinico di Monserrato at the disposal of the coroner.

Cagliari also mourns the death of the young man, with a message of condolence on social media: “ Cagliari Calcio mourns the tragic death of Andrea Musiu , who died on a football field when he was just 20 years old. The whole club, deeply shaken by the news, gathers around family and friends. Rest in peace".
