From the lands of Eleonora d'Arborea to the "Land of Shadows" the pace is dark and slow. When yet another state blitz takes place on that port marked by a never-used siding, it is three in the morning. has attenuated not even for a moment the grip that has been shackling the mighty humidity for days on the women and men of the "Wind Energy Revolt". they burst onto the stage of the Oristano airport, the air is filled with tension and disbelief. No one, at that time, expected that in a normal and civilized state we could witness a scene as surreal as it was disproportionate, almost like military action. to defeat a drug trafficker den.

The "lesson" of the State

From the public order buildings they organized a "lesson" to the demonstrators who had been camping for days "as best as possible" in that deserted and inhospitable square in front of the wind port of Sardinia. Having blocked the caravan of pylons and shovels the night before, having stoically resisted, with a "Ghandian" spirit, the constraints imposed by those who should govern and not disturb public order, has made the upper levels of the Palaces of Power even more aggressive. So it was. Immediately, in the middle of the night, as if to take advantage of the half-asleep, they put on helmets and truncheons, shields and pushed them, complete with violent forced lifting of defenseless demonstrators lying in the path of the foreign invasion. A deployment of law enforcement forces never seen before, not even for truly bloody and criminal events in the social life of the island, from the sensational and repeated robberies of armored vehicles to the ignored code red calls.

Escorted business

Here, however, as if there were a collective good to be protected, which is instead very private, with deals listed on the stock exchange and very often the result of non-transparent activities, it takes sides, without sparing any expense, as the citizens pay, in full force the army of public order. The "brave" resist who, at three in the morning, suddenly caught, have the tenacity to peacefully oppose that State "funeral march", organized to escort those business "fans" of foreign origin, functional to digging up the " lethal pit” of the landscape and environment of the island. The caravan of cars dedicated to transport that everyone here calls "exceptional" slows down for the second night in a row. During the public order conferences which, in the last mornings, had planned the State raids to try to neutralize the peaceful resistance to this wind invasion, the Prefect himself had taken it upon himself to declare: «these are artefacts intended to the extraordinary maintenance of installations authorized for some time". A statement as heavy as it is unfounded, precisely because it was made by the highest representative of the State in the province that once belonged to Eleonora, which went down in history as the guarantor of the rights of the Sardinians. When dawn spurs the path of the marching column marked by multicolored flashing lights, to be the envy of the most renowned village festivals downstream of Monte Linas, the "steel gull" patrols the area of the last stage of those devastating "slicers" of wind and incentives, landscapes and nature. The skyline is unmistakable: a thriving agricultural area, proscenium on the slopes of Sa Spendula, close to the peaks of the "Land of Shadows", between Villacidro and Samassi. It is here that the Prefect's peremptory statements, those on "extraordinary maintenance", shatter into a thousand pieces in front of the images that the drone returns without fear of contradiction. There is no "extraordinary maintenance" here. Anyone who delves into this mass of new roads that are opening up would understand it as if they had to build a road network in competition with American avenues . In this corner of agricultural land, in the rich Villacidrese area, they are leveling as they want, without any control, hundreds of hectares, with mighty trees blown up with bulldozers and chainsaws, with giant stumps slammed onto roadways made free for passage of the “bisons” of the wind. Here the "false" about "extraordinary maintenance" is buried in those chasms that have irremediably perforated those lands irrigated with public money to produce "God's good" and now converted to "fodder" for wind farms in Sardinia. In this fertile valley bathed by the precious water of Mount Linas, from Santu Miali to Pranu sa Cantissa, the maps and the lands are stories, families, legacies, lush orchards, sown fields.

The Piedmontese again

Now, there are the Piedmontese, who came from the Alps to overthrow landscapes and nature, agriculture and livestock with the help of gigantic wind turbines. Those two stumps that left the Port of Oristano aboard the "long hearses" that came from Molise to spread pylons and propellers around Sardinia, are now lying a stone's throw from the first of the nine shovels that will have to devastate the last proscenium of the Monte Linas remained untouched. Policemen and Carabinieri forced by superior orders had to escort the business of "Das Villacidro", an anonymous company that has nothing to do with the municipality of Monte Linas, other than those steel monsters that they are preparing to drive into the fertile lands between Pimpisu and the village of San Michele. The tax residence of these new Piedmontese in other people's land is in Cava, a small village on the slopes of the Maritime Alps, between Cuneo and Nice, in Piedmont that is more Ligurian than French. There is no point in asking who the owners are, you end up entering a tortuous circle of business between trusts and financial funds, related companies and apparently insignificant names.

Farce moratorium

One thing is certain: that construction site is a new construction. According to the "moratorium law" it should be "prohibited to build" new plants. According to the post-approval proclamations, the Region should have ordered the construction site to be blocked, to avoid environmental devastation. The Carabinieri, the Police and the Forestry Service should have arrived on site to enforce the law. Instead, they arrived there to escort the affairs of these new lords of the wind who had arrived in the "Land of Shadows" from none other than the Alps. The sign of the times: Eleonora of Arborea promulgated wise laws to respect the environmental heritage of the Island, complete with heavy penalties; Giuseppe Dessì, the writer of Monte Linas, on the other hand, narrated the bloody deeds of the Villacidresi to expel invaders from public lands. Today, however, it turns out that the State tells lies to justify very private affairs, while the Region does nothing to enforce the laws it says it has passed to defend Sardinia. The wind turbines, however, were escorted in the middle of the night by "batons" in riot gear and higher orders. The sign of the new times, those of wind power businesses in Sardinia.
