First Tannery Dussoni (late 19th century), then a Foundation to house the children of the fallen of the Sassari Brigade in the First World War, now the Student House or mini campus as it is also called, because almost all the rooms have a kitchenette, outside there is a small playground that will be open to citizens and next to it there is the sports facility of the Municipality of Sassari to which other fields will be added by Ersu. This morning the Ersu residence was inaugurated between viale Adua and via Carlo Felice.

A ribbon-cutting awaited for years for the characteristic red-walled building which retains its historical value. The idea dates back to 2000, the 2009 project, the start of work was started in 2014. Total expenditure (regional funds) of 9 million and 600 thousand euros.

The beds are 75: one single and 36 double rooms, some with mezzanines that almost look like a two-room apartment, all with bathroom. They will be available to students from October, when the new academic year begins.

The president of Ersu Sassari, Massimo Sechi, commented: “I am pleased to finish my mandate with the inauguration of this work which brings to 750 beds in the city for students. Now some services need to be improved, such as transport, and we must also remember to do some maintenance on some buildings ”.
