The devastating fire that hit Marrubiu last Saturday would have started from a dilapidated electricity pole located in a land in Uras.
This is the hypothesis, still to be confirmed, of the men of the Forestry Corps who have seized and cordoned off the area waiting for the investigations to be concluded.
The gigantic fire destroyed over 500 hectares of Mediterranean scrub and also cultivated land , lapping a dairy and forcing the temporary evacuation of 170 people who took refuge in the municipal gym or at friends' homes and were able to return home only in the late evening.
The flames were put out at the end of hard work by the Forestry Corps, Fire Brigade and Civil Protection with the support of two Canadair and three regional fleet helicopters.
The mayor of Marrubiu , Luca Corrias, has announced that he will declare a state of calamity .
