A world-class event that will bring prestige to Cagliari and Sardinia. This is the underlying theme of the preliminary regatta of the 38th America's Cup , which will see the Golfo degli Angeli (Gulf of Angels) as the undisputed center of sailing until Sunday. It is with this in mind that the Sardinia Region has strongly supported this event, the opening act of the edition that will be awarded to Naples in 2027.
The investment to organize the preliminary regatta was 8 million euros , funded entirely by the Department of Tourism, with a far superior economic return and destined to further increase: "Yes, because the estimate of 50 million we had made must be revised upwards," announced Alessandra Todde, President of the Region.
Everything's ready
Until Sunday, sailing enthusiasts will have their eyes on Cagliari. Twenty-five thousand people are expected, again up from initial estimates, but many more will be following the event from numerous accredited television stations around the world. These will not only feature the boats in the water, but also the many beauties of southern Sardinia.
