The minor with multiple trauma involved in the serious road accident on Friday evening outside Nuoro, which involved three cars and left 10 people injured, was transferred to Rome this morning.
The very young patient was transported to Bambin Gesù Hospital following contact at San Francesco Hospital with the pediatric maxillofacial surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and pediatric intensive care units.
"I would like to express my enormous gratitude and recognition," declared Angelo Zuccarelli, Special Commissioner of Nuoro's Local Health Authority (ASL) 3, "to all the operational units and healthcare workers involved in a situation that placed the system under significant stress. Their response, in addition to highlighting the importance of rapid and efficient emergency services, confirmed the high level of professionalism and efficiency of the emergency room, the departments affiliated with the surgical department (from Neurosurgery to General Surgery, including the excellent operating theatre), the intensive care unit, and the entire Nuoro hospital."
