He was running scared through the streets of the town. No one could stop the dog that was running away from one place to another but everyone noticed that red patch around his neck and that sort of scarf that was hanging from his chest. The report was immediately made to Anna Rita Deiana, contact person for the Anta Onlus association, who in turn alerted the animal recovery service of the ASL 5; shortly after, they managed to stop the dog. The race was immediately made to the Duemari veterinary clinic in Oristano where the animal was immediately rescued.

"He has a twenty-centimeter wide leather scarf hanging from his neck," explained veterinarian Monica Pais. " He has a penetrating wound under his neck with a perforation of the trachea ." Initially, it was feared that those serious wounds could be human-made, but after a thorough examination by the veterinarians , the hypothesis is that the elderly dog was attacked by other animals that reduced him to that state : "He has several holes and wounds that make us think he was attacked by his peers." Now the dog, renamed "Colletto," is in good hands, he will receive all the necessary assistance and then, as soon as he is better, he will need a family and a lot of love.

It is yet another case of a dog alone, perhaps abandoned or stray, certainly left to its fate on the street. A fate that very often has a pre-written ending but this time thanks to the commitment of volunteers and veterinarians will have a happy ending.
