The Carabinieri carried out another inspection of the villa, on the outskirts of Terralba, devastated by an arson attack on Saturday night .
The military seized traces of fuses and other elements, which were sent to the RIS in Cagliari for the necessary tests . Meanwhile, the provincial command's investigations are continuing unabated to fully investigate the attack, which occurred a year after another intimidation suffered by Battista Manis, the manager of several betting shops and tobacconists in various parts of the island.
The alarm was raised late Saturday evening. According to Manis, it was around 9:00 PM when, from the outbuilding where he was alone, he heard suspicious noises and banging on the window. Then a loud bang and, within seconds, flames gathered strength, engulfing furniture, sofas, curtains, and the TV in the living room and kitchen. Firefighters were immediately called, and worked tirelessly to put out the blaze and secure the apartment overlooking Via Sicilia. The Carabinieri were also on site, having interviewed Manis and will now review the CCTV footage.
The entrepreneur had also suffered a similar act of intimidation a year ago, when someone set fire to his home. The 53-year-old claims to have suspicions about who might have committed such an act. The investigation continues.
