Ten hours waiting to board: an odyssey for Sardinian travelers in London

An odyssey that lasted, between one thing and another, over 12 hours. This is what Sardinian travelers had to face when on Sunday 1 May they booked a seat on the Easyjet flight, operated by SmartLynx Latvia , from London Gatwick to Cagliari Elmas.

The take-off was in fact scheduled from the English capital at 8.40 in the morning . But something went wrong and the start was postponed .

And so for the passengers began hours and hours of waiting - someone complained "without explanation or assistance" - until the long-awaited announcement of boarding, which took place in the late afternoon, shortly after 5pm .

The flight finally departed from London at 5.47 pm (with the captain , the passengers report, who, before entering the cabin, passed between the rows of seats to apologize for the inconvenience ) and landed at Cagliari airport by now late in the evening , precisely at 21.12, while the original arrival time was 12.25 .
