Introduced in 2019, but only became a reality with the publication in the Official Journal of the Prime Ministerial Decree 24 of 2025 on March 13, the 2025 Tari Bonus has been in force since March 28.

It is a discount on the cost of the municipal waste tax designed for the most economically fragile families. Officially the benefit had been suspended due to Covid, but now those who are entitled to it can enjoy it, enjoying a 25% reduction on the ordinary amount.

The Tari Bonus on waste is recognized to all families with an ISEE of up to 9,530 euros. A maximum threshold that increases to 20 thousand euros (still of ISEE) if you have at least four dependent children.

The reference model is that of the bonus already in force for electricity and gas. The reduction will be recognized "for a single supply of integrated urban waste management service" per family unit.

The bonus is granted automatically, without prior submission of an application, but it is necessary to have submitted the updated ISEE 2025 declaration and to be the owner of the waste management service supply. The control bodies will communicate with each other and arrive at the formulation of the weight of the tax, scaled down by the discount.

The Bonus is expected to last for three years, after which Arera (Energy Regulatory Authority) could intervene to update the parameters.
