The hope is that, among those who bought and cooked the meat, no one threw the remains of the meal in the countryside or to the pigs. The bulk of the suspicious load of pork was withdrawn from the commercial chain after twenty days of tracking, however part had already been sold and therefore we can only cross our fingers.

It arrived in Sardinia shortly before mid-October, coming from a farm in Northern Italy affected by swine fever . Tons of pork with a certificate for marketing and consumption; a load sold wholesale and retail and arrived at delicatessens, butchers, supermarkets, shops, restaurants and canteens. The Ministry of Health immediately issued a red alert to all regions, and so the protocol for tracking, withdrawing and recalling the goods was started.

The risk that the disease returns to the Island is increasingly concrete . Moreover, starting from September 2023, it is the third time that meat from infected farms has entered our region.
