The Sassari Assizes Court sentenced Massimiliano Farci to life imprisonment – with daytime isolation for a year and a half – accused of the murder of his former partner Speranza Ponti , committed in December 2019 in Alghero .

The jury accepted the request of the "never end of sentence" made by prosecutors Angelo Beccu and Beatrice Giovannetti.

The sentence came after the rejoinder of the prosecution and the final interventions of the lawyers, Daniele Solinas, Farci's lawyer, and Stefano Carboni and Edoardo Morette, who assisted the civil parties.

For Farci, a 55-year-old from Assemini (present in the courtroom when the verdict was read), this is the second life sentence . The same penalty had been imposed on him for the Baldussi crime, committed in 1999. At the time of the killing of Speranza Ponti he was in semi-freedom.
