Sassari, backpack in front of the court: the bomb alarm goes off
After the checks by the bomb squad, the alert is returned. Inside the bag only a small radio left on for an oversight
The police intervened in via Roma in Sassari, in front of the court, a few steps from Piazza Italia, after the discovery of an abandoned backpack that triggered the bomb alarm.
On the spot the agents of the Sassari Police Headquarters and the bomb squads of the carabinieri entered into action.
The area, where there are many clubs and restaurants, therefore very crowded, has been isolated. After the checks, however, it was found that the backpack did not contain any bombs. Inside there was in fact only a small radio left on, the noise of which had aroused the initial suspicions.
The police then tracked down the owner who had forgotten him on the street.
The alarm therefore returned, but for an hour the area remained isolated and traffic and passage blocked.
