Race against time to save a Sardinian child of only 45 days in danger of life.

The baby was urgently transported from the island to Liguria, in Genoa, to be admitted to the Istituto Giannina Gaslini pediatric hospital.

Given the seriousness of his condition, the Prefecture of Sassari has requested the intervention of the Falcon 50 of the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force.

Taking off from Ciampino airport, the military aircraft, used precisely for emergency medical transfers, reached Alghero airport in just over an hour. Once the little patient boarded - assisted by a medical team and accompanied by his mother - inside a special thermal cradle, the aircraft immediately departed for Genoa. "Once landed - specifies a note from the Air Force -, the child was then transferred by ambulance to the Gaslini hospital".
