Sant'Antioco: A priest dies after his car crashes off the road.

A tragic afternoon in Sant'Antioco. The parish priest of Nostra Signora di Bonaria, Don Giulio Corongiu, lost his life while returning from Cala Sapone.

The priest was driving his car and suddenly lost control, skidding off the road. The Areus helicopter crew was also on the scene: rescuers attempted to revive him, but were unsuccessful. The accident occurred in the Canai area.

After going off the road, Don Corongiu was thrown from the car and ended up on a slope, several dozen meters away.

The Fire Department, the Assosulcis Civil Protection Agency, and the Sant'Antioco Barracellare Company were also on site. A sudden illness is suspected.
