Sant'Antioco: A priest dies after his car crashes off the road.
The victim is Don Giulio Corongiu, parish priest of Nostra Signora di Bonaria

A tragic afternoon in Sant'Antioco. While returning from Cala Sapone , the parish priest of Nostra Signora di Bonaria, Don Giulio Corongiu, lost his life. He was 76 years old.
The priest was driving his car and suddenly lost control, skidding off the road. The Areus helicopter crew was also on the scene: rescuers attempted to revive him, but were unsuccessful. The accident occurred in the Canai area.
After ending up off the road, Don Corongiu was thrown from the car and fell down a cliff for several dozen meters.
The Nuxis Carabinieri, firefighters, the Assosulcis civil protection unit, and the Sant'Antioco barracellare company responded to the scene. A sudden illness is suspected.
