The magnifying glass of the scholars is again in S'Urachi , locality Su Padru , in the territory of San Vero Milis . A few days ago the cleaning work began on the archaeological site. Once the weeds have been eliminated, the actual studies will begin: this is the ninth excavation campaign . And who knows if, like in previous years, new treasures will come to light that will tell a new page in the San Vero area.

What is certain is that on the site of S'Urachi there is a Nuragic village. Archaeologists will continue the excavations interrupted last year. As has been the case for some time now , an international team of teachers from the United States and Sardinia will work around what according to experts is one of the major Nuragic monuments of the island which extends majestically on a hillock.

This is the continuation of a work begun way back in 2012, financed by Brown University and the municipal administration of San Vero Milis. The scholars will be led by Peter Van Dommelen , scientific director of the Nuragic site. The goal is to find information to tell who lived in that precise spot. And as always, the site will be a destination for tourists and onlookers.
