San Salvatore has returned to Cabras: a crowd of faithful awaits the Scalzi
A great moment of tradition and devotion in front of an audience never seen beforePer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Seen from above, they cut the brown fields of Sinis in two. A picture to be framed. Every step is a promise, a thought for who knows who, an act of faith. It is 7:30 pm when the red flag can be glimpsed from afar: symbol of a story that unites.
Here they are. The runners are very fast, they arrive in Cabras as true winners and in their faces, after pitfalls and obstacles, there is a mix of fatigue and pride, smiles and tears. In Cabras, a great moment of faith took place: the Scalzi brought the simulacrum of San Salvatore back to the church of Santa Maria. A moment of pure magic that unites almost a thousand men dressed in white.

The Scalzi left the ancient village of Sinis around 6:30 p.m. They followed the same route as Saturday morning: eight kilometers on foot, first on dirt roads and then on asphalt, with the Saint on their shoulders. In Cabras, after an hour, it was time for tears, hugs but also pain.

Tomorrow morning, Monday 2nd September, is the day of the stairs. About 400 women wearing the traditional dress of the village will trample on the same transport at dawn to transport the small simulacrum of Santu Srabadoeddu from the ancient village to the church of Santa Maria, in Cabras. It is the last act of the festival. Another magic that only happens in these parts.
