The coordinator of the Sardinia anti-mafia district directorate, Rodolfo Sabelli, announces the hard line for the search for those responsible for the armed assault on the Mondialpol in Sassari .

«We will react with strategy, coordination between public prosecutors and police forces, resources of means and men, commitment», says Sabelli at the end of the meeting of the Provincial Committee for order and security convened in Sassari by the prefect, Grazia La Fauci .

«All prosecutors are fully committed, we consider these facts as emergencies on which to intervene forcefully with determination , as has been done in the past, and we will obtain the same results. Because investigations into similar facts have already been carried out in the past and ended with the conviction of those responsible ", adds Sabelli. And he concludes: «The presence of the police forces has already been increased and I can assure you that with the coordination of the prosecutors they are operating at their maximum, all responsibilities will be ascertained».

Also present at the summit was the general prosecutor of Cagliari, Luigi Patronaggio , according to whom «the phenomenon of robberies does not only concern Sassari, but affects the whole of Sardinia, and is a phenomenon that presents some similarities with the old kidnappings».

«Today we held this meeting here in Sassari, on 11 July there will be another one in Cagliari: faced with a military attack of this kind, with these weapons and with so many shots fired even at eye level, it is difficult to prevent it. We must all make a leap in quality, in repression, in prevention, in investigations."
