"Whoever struck must pay." Simona Campus wrote it on Facebook, a month after the murder of her son Marco Mameli. A long post to invoke, once again, justice for her "treasure" killed with three stab wounds.

"He who saw and kept silent must pay. He who heard and did not say must pay. Even if the highest price, the most unjust, was paid by you, because they took your life, condemning us to live with your absence, with a void that no word can ever fill."

The killer is still in the shadows but the family of the murdered man does not give up: "Our pleas were not enough to shake the consciences of those who were there that cursed evening. You were struck with ferocity, with a cruelty that I cannot understand. The killer is not only the one who struck those blows. It is also the one who saw and chose to look the other way, the one who saw you fall and ran away leaving you to die without looking you in the eye".

Meanwhile, for next Saturday, Marco's friends have organized a torchlight procession through the streets of the town: gathering at 7:30 pm in Piazza Lussu.
