"We are working with the Ministry of Economy on the first five dossiers on the stadiums of Florence, Bologna, Cagliari, Parma and Empoli: some are for Euro 2032, others because they need to be done. Then those of Milan, Rome, Naples, Palermo, Verona and Genoa will arrive. And we will continue in this direction". Speaking is Andrea Abodi, Minister for Sport and Youth, in an interview given to Tgr Rai Piemonte. With a specific request on the construction (or renovation) of sports facilities in Italy: " I think the time for action has come . We have spent a lot of words, as well as analyses, research and conferences: now it is a question of giving a significant acceleration".
The minister therefore provides significant input to proceed with the issue of the new Cagliari stadium, which should be built in place of the Sant'Elia stadium that has been abandoned for seven and a half years , after there was no shortage of controversy at a political level last week. Abodi, speaking at a national level, does not even rule out a specific commissioner: «I spoke about it as a last resort, because when we get to the commissioner it means we are at the limit».
